Step 2: Conduct a personal or telephone interview, depending on your preference. Here are some examples of questions you should ask in order to identify the best candidate for you and your family:

  1. Experience: Describe (in your own words) your work experience related to this job.
  2. Skills: When the candidate indicates specific qualifications, ask where and when he/she has obtained them.
  3. Job Preferences:
    • Children: Number of children, age of children, the ability to work with children with special needs.
    • Pets: type of pet, care on site or at home.
    • Help for Seniors: type of tasks they prefer to perform.
  4. Specific skills required for this job or for your needs. Here are some examples:

    • Able to give medication?

Step 3: Reference and background checks

  1. References: Request details of clients who used their services if unavailable on their profile
